The People’s army newspaper ran an editorial and many articles in praise of President Ho Chi Minh’s life and career—an epic, shining example of patriotism, communist virtue, and revolutionary morality, and a great encouragement to the Vietnamese people. The front page showed a picture of President HoChi Minh and his words: “I have only one desire, the ultimate desire that the country be independent and free, the people have enough food, clothing and housing, are able to learn and make progress and enjoy a fruitful, free and happy life.” That was a dream, an aspiration, that manifested a great ideology and a noble humanitarian ideal. Uncle Ho worked tirelessly all his life with extraordinary energy, despite many the difficulties and challenges, with an unswerving confidence in historical trends, particularly the everlasting power of the masses under the leadership of the Communist Party in the revolutionary struggle to turn his ideology and ideas into reality.

The front page of the People Newspaper today pictured President Ho Chi Minh over the slogan “Great President Ho Chi Minh lives forever”, next to an article affirming the value and importance of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology in Party building: “To build a strong Party believed and respected by the people, to strictly correct mistakes and wrongdoing, and to encourage the people to study and follow Uncle Ho's moral example.”

An editorial in the Sai Gon Liberation Newspaper titled: “The symbol of belief”, called President Ho Chi Minh the people’s symbol of belief. Ho Chi Minh was the crystallization of the best and most outstanding examples of wisdom and ideology, sentiment and morality, personality, lifestyle, and humanity in Vietnam.
