Ambassador Pham Hai Anh, Vietnam's Charge D'Affaires ad interim to the UN, called on both sides to quickly resolve their dispute through peaceful means, in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.

Expressing concern about challenges facing the UNISFA recently, the Ambassador urged all sides to ensure the safety and security of UN personnel and create favorable conditions for the UNISFA to carry out its mandate effectively. He lauded the efforts of the UN, the UNISFA, neighbouring countries, and international partners to find a peaceful solution to the Abyei issue and resolve the ongoing challenges facing the UNISFA.
