In a statement, the UN Chief called for the perpetrators to be held accountable.

Mr. Guterres called on all Iraqis to exercise the utmost restraint and reject all violence and any attempt to destabilize Iraq.

He urged all political actors to uphold the constitutional order and resolve differences through peaceful dialogue.

According to the Secretary-General, the United Nations will stand by all Iraqis who desire peace, stability, and a better future.
