On the occasion of United Nation’s Day October 24, UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon will call on 193 countries to share, cooperate and strive toward the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) for world peace and development. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon says humans are living in a time of profound changes and serious threats of traditional and non-traditional security. He says that from now until the 2015- MDG deadline, there remain many important duties for the international community to carry out to achieve the lofty goals of the MDGs. This is the time to show responsibility and not delay or skip any measures for peace, development, human rights and equality… The Secretary General praised social organization that help and support UN activities and asked every individual, country, and international organization to contribute to the United Nations’ joint goals of world peace, security, and development.
