Delegates at the conference agreed that the natural resource also flows through the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at a time when the world is grappling with climate change, water scarcity, and pollution.
The Vietnamese delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha attended the plenary session and dialogues on water resource cooperation.
In his closing remarks, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called the action plan an "ambitious vision." He said the countries’ dedication to action and transformation is propelling towards a sustainable, equitable and inclusive water-secure future for people and planet alike.
The UN Secretary-General called on the world community to take action to protect the water resource to prevent conflicts and assure the world prosperity in the future.
