In a joint statement following talks between British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and US President Joe Biden before the start of a G7 summit, the two underlined their commitment to the Belfast Agreement, which ended decades of sectarian violence in Northern Ireland.

PM Johnson played down differences between the UK and the US over Brexit’s effect on peace in Northern Ireland, saying the two countries and the EU were in ‘complete harmony’ on the 1998 agreement.
