UK postpones Brexit negotiation

(VOVWORLD) - Negotiations between the Labour Party and British Prime Minister Theresa May’s Conservative party did not make a breakthrough, and will be postponed until after the EU’s emergency summit on Wednesday.

The two sides had detailed and wide-ranging talks, a government spokesperson said, adding that they have yet to see the clear shift in the government’s position that is needed to secure a compromise agreement. The two sides have agreed to continue their talks on Thursday. Members of Parliament on Tuesday voted to approve May's article 50 extension until 30 June.  The PM is on a working visit to Germany and France.
The same day, President of the European Council Donald Tusk urged EU leaders to offer the UK a flexible extension of up to one year. He said that Ms. May asked for a delay to June 30, but it is highly unlikely the UK can get a deal signed, sealed and delivered by that date.
