TV channel Vietnam Journey goes on air

(VOVWORLD) - A ceremony was held in Hanoi on Wednesday for Vietnam Journey, Vietnam’s first multi-platform interactive TV channel on culture and tourism. The event, co-organized by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, was broadcast live, linking Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh province, and Kien Giang province.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, and VOV President Nguyen The Ky pressed the symbolic buttons to launch the TV channel.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent his congratulations on Vietnam Journey’s debut. He said during a recent trip to the Vietnam Journey TV station: “I believe that VOV’s new TV channel will build on the past decade’s accomplishments in the current competitive, technological era. The TV channel staff will have to refine their skills to support the development of VOV, a key communications agency of the Party and State”.

The channel will feature on the traditional culture, natural beauty, and cuisine of localities across Vietnam. Interactive technology will allow viewers to directly participate in the programs by interacting with the hosts and other viewers through smartphones or smart TVs. Accessible using digital, cable, and IPTV technologies, and the Internet, Vietnam Journey will also operate via the webpage http://truyenhinhdulich.vn which will provide information on destinations in Vietnam, travel guides, restaurants, hotel reservations, air ticket bookings, and photo sharing. The channel will be available in English, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese in the hope of bringing more foreign visitors to Vietnam.
