The White House announced that Trump had signed a three-week stopgap bill that will reopen shuttered parts of the government through February 15. The funding measure puts an end to the longest government shutdown in US history.

A failure to agree on a border wall funding of 5.7 billion USD between Rupublicans and Democrats to meet the requirements of President Donald Trump led to the partial shutdown of the federal government since December 22. Amid this battle, an array of government agencies have not been fully operating since then and 800,000 federal employees are not being paid.
