(VOVworld) - The southern province of Tra Vinh on Friday hosted a get-together on the occasion of the 2012 Sene Dolta Festival. The province of home to more than 30% of Vietnam’s Khmer population. 43, 000 poor households have received support from the Party and the State. 1,700 households are allocated with land for housing and production, while nearly 27,000 people are provided with jobs. The Khmer religious dignitaries have joined hands with local administrations to work for socio-economic development and national unity. Lam Minh Lien is Head of Tra Vinh Council of Ethnicity: “The Province Party Committee has asked for the comprehensive development of areas inhabited by ethnic people, especially ethnic cadres. This year the number of party members among  local cadres has increased steadily, compared with last year.”
