At a conference in Tra Vinh on promoting investment, trade, and tourism, the Prime Minister hailed the local potential for development. He asked Tra Vinh authorities to develop sustainable socio-economic growth models and make its industry a support tool for agriculture. Phuc highlighted the need to link value chains, create brand names for Tra Vinh products, and lure investment in renewable energy and agricultural processing that protects the environment.

The Prime Minister suggested that farmers work with businesses and investors to improve their incomes.

“Farmers have land while businesses have money and technology. Farmers collectively can lease their land to businesses and work there, creating a larger production area using advanced technology. The model has been successful in Ha Nam and Thai Binh province. I believe the same thing could work in Tra Vinh, where we should focus on shrimp farming and high-yield rice production,” Mr. Phuc said.

Prime Minister Phuc said the government is ready to work with Tra Vinh leaders and investors to promptly address difficulties and together achieve success.
