During a visit to Bac Ninh on Monday, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong urged the northern province to improve its business climate and competitiveness to become a modern industrial hub before 2030.
He emphasized that economic growth should go hand in hand with social and cultural development.
Mr. Trong offered incense at Do Temple dedicated to 8 Kings of the Ly Dynasty which ruled Vietnam from the 11th century to the 13th century.

In HCM city, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc inspected the Tet work plans of the municipal police force and military command.
He called on the police and military to heighten vigilance to ensure social law and order and deal with any contingencies during the lunar New Year Festival.

The same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised HCM city’s health sector’s key role in turning the southern metropolis from a COVID-19 hotspot into a “green zone.”
Presenting gifts to local health workers, Mr. Chinh called for accelerating vaccination and effectively implementing socio-economic recovery and disease prevention and control programs.
