At a ceremony marking 90 years of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union on Tuesday, the top leader stressed that, during the country’s long history, young people have upheld patriotism, actively pioneered in all fields, and made significant contributions to national construction and defense.

He said the Party, State and people have strong belief and high expectations for younger generations and hope that Vietnamese youth, particularly young Party members, will lead the way in building a prosperous nation.

“The Youth Union should continue to spur revolutionary ideology, morale, lifestyle, patriotism, national pride, the desire for national development, and responsibility in national construction and defense.  It’s necessary to encourage the youth to follow President HCM’s ideology, morality, and lifestyle,” said Mr. Trong.
