Le Huu Minh, acting Director of the municipal Tourism Department, said that from now till the end of the year, Hue will focus on stimulating demand among domestic tourists.

“The tourism market is completely dependent on domestic tourists so this is an extremely fierce competition. The question now is what to do to create unique products that will attract the tourists. We think one of the most important things will be to diversify tourism products and improve their quality,” said Minh.

Phan Ngoc Tho, Chairman of the Thua Thien-Hue provincial People's Committee, called on the local tourism sector to develop new tourism products and promotional programs as part of the post-COVID-19 tourism stimulus program.

“Hue will focus on implementing the Politburo’s Resolution 54 on making Thua Thien-Hue a heritage city directly under the Central Government, while simultaneously attracting investment and helping businesses recover from the pandemic, especially Hue’s economic spearheads like tourism and industrial parks,” Tho said.

He added, “We must be ready to welcome investment and production chains being shifted from other countries to Vietnam, and mobilize internal resources for social security to ensure people a stable life after the epidemic.”
