Three new intensive care centres in HCMC receive COVID-19 patients

(VOVWORLD) - Three new intensive care centers for COVID-19 patients in Ho Chi Minh City with doctors and medical staff coming from three central-level hospitals nationwide began to receive patients in critical conditions for treatment on Sunday.

The ICUs with doctors and medical staff from Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital and and Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi, and Hue Central Hospital in Thua Thien-Hue province have 1,500 beds.

The ICUs are located in District 7, Binh Chanh ditrict, and Thu Duc City.

Each ICU has 500 beds. 

Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Truong Son, head of the ministry’s taskforce to support HCM City in COVID-19 prevention and control, said the telehealth digital platform should be used to connect hospital departments, and a monitoring centre should be set up to coordinate the treatment of critical COVID-19 cases at the three intensive care centres.
