Its foreign ministry said the Syrian government would participate "in order for Syrians themselves to find a political path to a solution". Syria's main opposition group entered a second day of talks Friday aimed at finding an approach to the conference. The international conference, backed by Russia and the US, aims to find a political solution to the conflict in Syria, based on the final communiqué of the UN-backed Action Group for Syria meeting in the Swiss city in June 2012. The communique called for an immediate end to violence and the establishment of a transitional government that could include officials serving under President Bashar al-Assad and members of the opposition. But, Russia said it is too early to set a specific time as who will represent the opposition to take part in the conference has not been known.
