Symposium discusses proactive national defense

(VOVWORLD) -A Hanoi symposium on Wednesday raised the issue of protecting the country even if it is not in danger, reviewed the past 10 years and forecast what will happen by 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Addressing the event organized by the Ministry of Public Security and the Central Theoretical Council, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang said, “In order to early and proactively safeguard the Fatherland when the country is not in danger, first of all, rapid and sustainable development must be guaranteed without lagging behind."

"It’s imperative to closely combine national defense, security and external relations between domestic and external resources; between economic, social, and cultural development and national defense and security. The people's police force must rely on the people, take the people as the root, the center, and the source of strength in the cause national construction and defense.”

The delegates clarified the Party's views on proactive protection of the Fatherland and the role of economy and culture in national defense. They highlighted the core role and important contributions of the People's Public Security force and recommended good practices, useful and highly feasible solutions to serve the national defense.
