Over the past 20 years, 70 million youth registrations have been made to join in various activities, including road repairs, construction of houses, healthcare catering and illiteracy eradication. 673,000 youth construction projects have been completed worth nearly 4 trillion dong. Speaking in the ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh said: “I ask for more activities to take place in 93 poor communes and districts, islands, and areas along Ho Chi Minh Road to improve local infrastructure and ease congestion on the National Highway 1. We need to promote international cooperation and voluntary movement during Vietnam’s ASEAN Chairmanship next year.”
