Standard Chartered: Vietnam continues to be fastest-growing ASEAN economy

(VOVWORLD) - Standard Chartered forecasts that Vietnam will remain the fastest-growing ASEAN economy in the near term, with this year’s growth projected to be 6.9%.

The forecast was highlighted in the bank’s “Global Focus – Economic Outlook” report for the third quarter of 2019.

According to the latest macro-economic research, FDI inflows will remain robust this year, particularly in the manufacturing sector.

According to Standard Chartered, inflation will increase modestly in the second half of the year, averaging 2.8% in comparison to 2.6% in the first six months.

The bank said the Vietnamese economy creates an attractive environment in which medium-sized enterprises can expand their business to the regional market and build a prosperous future for ASEAN.
