She said that Pyongyang is seeking to trigger division in South Korea and a "crack" in international cooperation against its nuclear development. This may intensify international community’s punishments and destabilize society. In a meeting with the Korean Freedom League on Monday, Park said any negotiations with North Korea will become “nonsense” if North Korea does not change its attitude towards its nuclear programs.

This year marks 44 years of the inter-Korean joint statement (4/7/1972 – 4/7/2016), in which North Korea headed to unification through peace, democracy, and national unity.
