At the meeting, Ambassador Loi pledged to do his utmost to help enhance solidarity and friendship between the two peoples, the partnership for cooperation and development established in 2004 between the two countries, and ties between Africa and ASEAN. He gave regards from Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong to the South African leader. Speaking to reporters after the ceremony, the ambassador said the two sides support each other at international forums, especially since both are non-permanent members of the UN Security Council in 2020.
