The figure was announced at a national online conference in Hanoi on Monday on improving credit policy for sustainable poverty reduction. The conference was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, who is also Head of the Steering Committee for National Target Programs.

Over the past three years, 8 million poor households and policy beneficiaries have accessed credit packages, according to the conference. More than 1.4 million of those households are now above the poverty level.
