The Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea on Thursday sent officials to Tongmyeong city to meet the families of the victims and work with the police to monitor search and rescue operations. Rescue information is reported to the missing sailors’ families twice a day. The search and rescue team is also in contact with the marine police of Japan and China. Rescue workers have found life jackets, boots, and gas bottles near the accident site, but are not sure they are from the missing boat.
