The boy was not only born free of Covid-19, he even has antibodies against the virus, the Straits Times quoted his pediatrician as saying. Weighing 3.5 kg at birth, he was born on Nov 7 at the National University Hospital (NUH).

Ms. Celine Ng-Chan, 31, the mother of the child, said the doctor suspected she may have passed antibodies to her baby during pregnancy. When she was diagnosed with Covid-19, Mrs Ng-Chan was 10 weeks pregnant. She was mildly ill and was discharged from hospital after 2 and a half weeks of treatment.
