Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said the talks had not yielded the results Kyiv had hoped for, but the two sides had reached an understanding on evacuating civilians. He added that it's only in those places where the humanitarian corridors will be located that there will be a possible cease-fire for the duration of the evacuation. 

The two sides also agreed to transport medicine and food to the locations where the fiercest fighting is happening. The talks between Ukrainian and Russian officials took place in Belovezhskaya Pushcha in the Brest region of Belarus, bordering Poland.

A new round of talks will take place in the upcoming days, said Leonid Slutsky, a Russian delegation member and head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs. Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said a third round of talks should take place as soon as possible.
