(VOVWORLD) - On the 8th day of the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 30), the Vietnamese athletes competed in 21 games.

Pham Thi Thu Trang won a gold medal on the women’s 10,000m race walk and Pham Thi Hue bagged a gold medal on the women’s 10,000m race.

Many other athletes entered the final rounds on Sunday. Swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien and My Tien will compete in the women's 400m individual medley later Sunday. Swimmer Nguyen Huu Kim Son and Tran Hung Nguyen will compete in the men’s 400 m medley.

Runner Le Thi Tu Chinh entered the final round of the the women’s 100m race. Taekwondo and Karatedo athletes are expected to grab more gold medals.

The final female football match between Vietnam and Thailand will take place late on Sunday. Tran Duc Phan, Head of the Vietnamese delegation to SEA Games 30, said: “The 7th, 8th, and 9th day are important competition days for Vietnamese athletes. Track and field, swimming, archery, and wrestling are expecting more medals. Our target of more than 65 gold medals is feasible.”

On Saturday the Vietnamese men’s football team won 4-0 over Cambodia to play with Indonesia in the final match next Tuesday. Vietnamese athletes won 8 gold medals on Saturday.
