Prime Minister Chinh said the Party and State identify the development and application of science and technology as the primary policy and the most important driving force for national development and defense.

“In a rapidly changing, complex and unpredictable world, we need to nurture and promote stronger the spirit of science-technology and innovation. It is necessary to have a team of competent scientists, working in research institutes, universities, and production facilities; competent engineers and technologists working in enterprises, and competent managers to promote science-technology and innovation," PM Chinh said. 

"We need to effectively tap the resources of Vietnamese scientists at home and abroad and have scientists and managers with innovative thinking and strategic vision to unlock on the distinctive resources and potentials of the country for further development.”

The Prime Minister called for scientists’ more enthusiasm and commitment and urged businesses to invest comprehensively in science and technology, especially in new fields for green, sustainable and environmentally friendly development.
