From his Novo-Ogaryovo residence, Putin addressed 800 reporters from regional news outlets, much fewer this year than in previous years. What made this year’s press conference different was that any resident of Russia, not just journalists, could send a question to the President via a telephone hotline, the website “Moscow – Putinu”, or a mobile app.
