During a telephone conversation on Saturday, Russia’s foreign minister told his US counterpart that the arrest of a woman named Maria Butina on accusation of spying is unacceptable and is based on “fabricated charges”. He called for her release.

The two diplomats also discussed joint effort to address humanitarian problems in Syria as well as to promote the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
