There is "no need" for a hastily arranged meeting at this time, Peskov said Sunday. “What is needed now is very careful work on the details of a settlement.”
Earlier, Putin and Trump agreed to meet in Hungary and began preparations following a phone call on October 16.
However, Trump later announced that the meeting would be postponed indefinitely, saying it should only be held once tangible progress on the Ukraine issue had been made.
Putin clarified that the proposed Hungary meeting was postponed by the US, not cancelled.
