(VOVworld) – Russia’s Gazprom has received 15 million USD from Ukraine’s Naftogaz in pre-payment, the Russian company said Thursday. The money is enough to cover 45.6 million cubic meters of gas, or about five days’ supply at current rates of delivery. Gazprom had warned that supply to Kiev might be cut off as early as Friday if no payment was made. Russia and Ukraine have agreed to negotiate a new gas deal before the current deal expires at the end of March.
