The new round of sanctions, expected as early as February, will be accompanied by two reports in line with implementation of the August anti-Russian law: one that outlines the effects of sanctions on Russia and another that details the growing number of Russian organizations and officials sanctioned by the US.

Russia will hold its next presidential vote on March 18 when President Vladimir Putin is widely expected to win another six-year term.
