Local authorities in collaboration with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ha Giang province earlier held a requiem to commemorate national heroes and martyrs.

Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery is the resting place of 1,853 martyrs who sacrificed their lives while defending the nation. To mark the 75^th anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27), veterans across the country gather here to burn incense and pay their respects to the heroic martyrs.
