Earlier on Friday night, the President attended a ceremony in Dong Ha City to mark to 50th liberation day of Quang Tri and 50 years of 81 days and nights defending Quang Tri ancient citadel, a historical victory illustrating revolutionary heroism.
Addressing the ceremony, the President recalled the provincial glorious history and asked for united effort in national sovereignty protection and unification.
“We should promote dynamism and creativeness for prosperity and happiness as well as bold thinking with self-accountability for common benefits. Party unity and solidarity, leadership role and people consensus should be enhanced,” said Mr. Phuc.
He called on Quang Tri province to improve its investment and business environment, administrative reform, human resources development to become a new model of social economic growth.”
“This will turn Parallel 17 and Ben Hai River to become an emerging model of social economic development. Let’s create miraculous successes in Thach Han and Ben Hai Rivers to pay tribute to predecessors and their sacrifices for this glorious land,” said President Phuc.
