Quang Liem then returned to winning ways in his fifth match of the tournament by recording a resounding win over Baskaran Adhiban, Elo 2,607.

After raking up four points from five matches, Quang Liem is currently ranked ninth in the rapid event.

Liem is poised to face off against Alexander Zubov, Elo 2,688, in his sixth match of the contest on December 27, Hanoi time.
