The logo uses a woolen shawl with “swooping curves” to represent desert dunes, an infinity symbol, and the number eight. The infinity symbol represents the interconnected nature of the World Cup while the 8 is a nod to the number of stadiums that will host the games. A woolen shawl, traditionally worn throughout the Arab and Gulf region during the cooler months, is a reference to the fact that this tournament will be held at the end of the year, with the championship final scheduled for December 18th. The logo’s text, derived from Arabic calligraphy, mixes traditional and modern features.
