(VOVworld) – The Ministry of Science and Technology has reviewed the implementation of a program on scientific and technological application to socio-economic development in rural and mountainous regions.

Minister Nguyen Quan said the program applied scientific knowledge to rural production and connected state agencies, scientists, businesses, and farmers. Quan said: “Over the next decade, we’ll develop the program in line with Party and State policies. We’ll contribute to the new rural development program, support ethnic minorities to improve their lives, and ensure national security. We’ll also focus on promoting national staple products such as high quality rice, tra fish, as well as edible mushrooms, and medicinal mushrooms.”   

The Ministry of Science and Technology aims to build 1,000 models in rural and mountain areas between 2016 and 2020.
