Prince Philip's funeral service to be held April 17 with limited attendees

(VOVWORLD) - Buckingham Palace has announced that the funeral of Prince Philip, spouse of Queen Elizabeth II, will be held next Saturday, at St. George's Chapel in Windsor, England, starting with a national minute of silence.

The number of funeral attendees will be limited to 30 and coronavirus measures will be observed for the funeral service.

A period of national mourning is being observed leading up to the funeral. On Saturday, military teams across the UK fired 41-gun salutes to mark the death of the former naval officer.

Vietnam’s President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Saturday sent a message of condolence to Queen Elizabeth II over Prince Philip’s death.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also cabled a message of condolences to Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The same day, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son extended his condolences to Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Dominic Raab.
