Prime Minister works with world's leading tech groups

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the world's leading technology groups, including Intel, Apple, and Google, on Tuesday afternoon (local time), in San Francisco, the US.

At Intel Corporation, Executive Vice President of Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing of Intel, Keyvan Esfarjani, emphasized Vietnam’s role in Intel's production chain, as well as the role of Vietnamese factories. He appreciated Vietnam's infrastructure and human resources and considered Vietnam a potential place for tech businesses to expand their operations.

Congratulating Intel’s performance in the world and in Vietnam, Prime Minister Chinh said he hopes that Intel will expand its investment in localities other than Ho Chi Minh City and work with Vietnam in contributing to technology transformation, digital transformation, and global supply chain diversification.

Talking with Apple CEO Tim Cook, Prime Minister Chinh said the Vietnamese Government is committed to continuing to create a fair and transparent business environment, creating maximum conditions for US businesses and investors to increase operations in Vietnam. He added Vietnam is moving deeper into the global supply chain, including the assembly of some Apple devices, suggesting that Apple focus on investing in developing business activities in Vietnam and bringing Apple products to a wide range of customer segments, so Vietnam will become one of Apple's major markets in Asia.

On the same day, at a meeting with Google Senior Vice President Rick Osterloh, Prime Minister Chinh welcomed Google's new cooperation plans in Vietnam. He asked the Group to continue to support digital transformation for Vietnamese businesses, thereby contributing to the process of building a digital government, digital economy and digital society of Vietnam.
