During the meeting in Yen Bai City on Wednesday, the Prime Minister praised the provincial social economic development and their contribution to the upcoming National Party Congress. He said: “Comprehensive and sustainable development matters. Social economic development must go hand in hand with national social security and Party building. These provinces must improve local people living standards as their poverty rate is 17% whereas the national poverty rate is 7%. Ethnic unity, afforestation, national sovereignty protection and social welfare must be the regional issues.”

Mr. Phuc underscored the need to listen to localities to reflect in documents, which will be submitted to the upcoming National Party Congress.

According to the Prime Minister, the real situation of localities will be important foundations for the sub-committee to work out socio-economic development directions in the next 5 years and the 10-year socio-economic development strategy until 2030.
