Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc congratulates Viettel staff on its 30th anniversary, June 1, 2019.

Prime Minister Phuc praised Viettel’s development strategies on telecom infrastructure and digital connection to build a foundation for a digital society. Phuc said it proves the important role of state enterprises in key economic areas adding that management and human resources are decisive factors to the company’s success.

The precursor to Viettel was Sigelco, an electronics information and equipment company established in 1989 under the Ministry of Defense. After 30 years, Viettel has become one of the world’s 30 biggest telecom group and found a place on Brand Finance's list of the 500 most valuable brands in the world. Viettel has branches in 17 countries and earned an annual income of over 10 billion USD, equivalent to 3% of Vietnam’s GDP.
