“The Party and State always expect Vietnamese people to go abroad to work hard, affirm their legal position, and integrate well with the local environment. Wishing you and your family to stay united, be bound together, and continue to reap many results so that you and your family can live a full and happy life, look forward to the homeland, preserve the national cultural identity, whether the first, second or third generation is still aware that you are the Vietnamese descents,” he said.

Noting the suggestions and wishes of the Overseas Vietnamese, the President asked the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK and agencies at home and abroad to pay attention to, support and create more favorable conditions for Vietnamese associations in the UK to work more effectively and contribute more to the good development of the Vietnam-UK friendship in the future.

Earlier, President Vo Van Thuong and the Vietnamese delegation came to lay flowers at the Plaque in honor of President Ho Chi Minh at New Zealand House in London. This historical relic and some other landmarks in London, where Ho Chi Minh set foot in during the years of finding ways for national salvation, are so meaningful as they have introduced to British and international friends the history and national liberation of Vietnam, and help promote the friendship between Vietnam and the UK.
