(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang is on a working-visit to Tien Giang province in the Mekong river delta. He inspected the 20-km Go Cong sea dykes including the upgrading and repair of the dyke and the Cho Gao canal, which are important elements in dealing with climate change and sea level rise in Tien Giang province.

Meeting with provincial leaders, President Sang said the impact of sea level rise has been more serious and faster than predicted, especially threatening the coastal protective forests. He urged local leaders to review plans and create an investment road-map for key constructions.

"In addition to money from the State budget and Government bonds, we have to mobilize other resources, especially foreign investment, for important constructions. We will apply two investment models, including 100% state investment and Public - Private Partnership." Sang said.

During his tour of Tien Giang province, Mr. Sang visited the Kieng Phuoc border guard station and laid wreathes at the Temples of Heroes Truong Dinh and Thu Khoa Huan.
