(VOVworld)-The central city of Da Nang has held a meeting to honor people who rendered great services to the nation on the occasion of the Day for Martyrs and Invalids on July 27. Vietnam now has more than 8.8 million people with great services to the nation, over 1.1 million martyrs and more than 3,000 heroic mothers. They have received state support in healthcare, housing, vocational training and credit.

Addressing the meeting, President Truong Tan Sang reiterated Vietnam ’s fine tradition of caring for those people with more Party and State policies catering for them:  “Despite difficulties, those people have exerted their determination to make progress. I praise the war invalids efforts in their care for families and contribution to the nation.”
