The visit is of great significance, taking place with the two countries’ traditional friendship and strategic partnership experiencing growth in multiple areas. The two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties and a decade of strategic partnership in 2023.
President Phuc is the first foreign head of state to visit Singapore since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019.
The visit reflects Vietnam’s determination to develop its economy, create favorable conditions for investors from Singapore, and to protect their operation in Vietnam, even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Phuc is expected to witness the signing of several cooperative agreements and contracts in national defense and security, economics, information and communications, and people-to-people exchanges.
The visit will give both sides an opportunity to realize agreements signed earlier in high-tech, clean energy, and digital transformation.
