During the meeting, President Luong Cuong emphasized that Vietnam–Turkey relations have grown steadily in recent years, urging the two countries to enhance exchanges of delegations, especially at the high-level as well as among ministries, sectors, and localities, while further promoting economic, investment, and trade ties.

The President suggested the two defense ministries continue strengthening bilateral defense cooperation based on the signed Defense Cooperation Agreement and the understandings reached during the recent talks between the two defense ministers.

Minister Yasar Guler reiterated that Turkey considers Vietnam an important partner in the Asia–Pacific region and hopes to further expand bilateral cooperation.

He said Turkey is ready to share technology and contribute to Vietnam’s defense modernization efforts, expressing his hope that Vietnam would support Turkey in expanding relations with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
