The program featured folk music genres including Xam, and the basic melodies of Xam and forms of Xam singing from past to present. Musician Nguyen Quang Long, a member of Ha Thanh Xam singing club, says: "The preservation of Xam includes upholding the typical cultural values of this art-form. We have managed to revive 8 of 20 Xam melodies. We also try to create a space for Xam singing during our performances".

Xam is a type of Vietnamese folk music which was popular in the Northern region of Vietnam. Ha Thi Cau (1928-2013) from Ninh Binh province was considered the last great Xam artist in the 20th century. Xam singing was also performed on the trams and in Dong Xuan market as a unique form of street music in Hanoi.
