Trump’s actions garnered support from 90% of Republicans, 73% of independents, and 45% of Democrats. As a point of comparison, just 15% of Democrats approved of Trump's job performance in the survey conducted between August 8 to 11. The orders extend unemployment benefits, suspend payroll taxes, and offer federal eviction and student loan relief.

The latest poll, released on Monday, comes as the Republican Party kicks off its four-day convention, which Mr. Trump will cap off with an acceptance speech from the White House.
