Translator Nguyen Huy Hoang addresses the launching ceremony in Hanoi on November 3, 2017 for the collection of Russian poems. |
The collection includes 180 poems from 24 poets written from 1941 to 1945 when Russia was fighting Nazi Germany. Two Vietnamese translators Nguyen Huy Hoang and Nguyen Van Minh have collected the poems from prominent authors.
Hoang told the launching ceremony on Friday: “The significance of the Soviet Union’s patriotic war still resonates today. The collection reflects the brutal reality of war through Russian characters and their inner feelings. It shows the tragedy of battle, but is also magnanimous and optimistic.”
