During a meeting with Steven Udvar-Hazy, Chairman of Air Lease Corporation, in Hanoi, on Wednesday, Prime Minister Chinh said Vietnam plans to reopen some international routes, including those to the US, and Vietnam Airlines will participate in this process.

Mr. Udvar-Hazy agreed to support Vietnam's national airline in a number of specific contracts, expressing his belief that with this support and after Vietnam opens its economy, the resumption of trade and tourism will help Vietnam Airlines recover and develop.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Chinh witnessed Vietnam Airlines and ALC exchanging an agreement, under which, ALC will deduct 420 million USD of the current contract and cancel previously signed aircraft lease contracts worth 600 million USD.
